The exhibition brings approximately 50 artworks by seven artists connected to the Syöte region into the heart of the breathtaking landscapes of Syöte National Park. Welcome to grand opening!

The unique outdoor art exhibition Glimpses of the North (Välähdyksiä) will open on the Iso-Syöte Summit Trail on 5 June 2026 at 1:00 PM.
The exhibition brings approximately 50 artworks by seven artists connected to the Syöte region into the heart of the breathtaking landscapes of Syöte National Park. The artworks are displayed along the Iso-Syöte Summit Trail, and their themes draw inspiration from local life, the surrounding nature, and the cultural heritage of the Syöte area. Grand opening on Friday 6th of June. 2026 at 1.00.PM
Participating artists are Katariina Kuukasjärvi, Sinikka Tasala, Arja Äikäs, Teija Soini, Tiina Törmänen, Sami Säily and Marjo Koskenkorva. The exhibition features paintings, photographs and graphic art.
Seven artists, 50 artworks, one spectacular landscape.
Glimpses of the North exhibiton is open daily from 5 June to 18 October 2026, and admission is free. The exhibition is located along the Summit Trail and extends over a distance of approximately 200 metres. While exploring the exhibition, visitors can also enjoy the stunning scenery of Syöte National Park, the beauty of the fell landscape and nature’s own works of art in one of the most spectacular settings in northern Finland. The exhibition can be reached on foot, by mountain bike, and later in the summer season also via the Iso-Syöte Express chairlift.
The opening event will feature an opening speech by Chairperson of the Board Veinalotta Terentjeff from, Syöte toursim association artist presentations, and an opportunity to explore the exhibition together with the artists.
The exhibition is part of the Oulu2026 European Capital of Culture programme.
