The cast of the Snowball musical, which will have its world premiere in Oulu Hall on December 4th, has been finalized. Among the performers are the much-loved Mika Nuojua and Mia Hafrén, known from the TV serie Tahdon asia.
The cast of the family-friendly Snowball Christmas musical is now complete: the leading roles will be played by actor Mika Nuojua, actor and singer Mia Hafrén and the musical theatre performers Petra Pääkkönen and Veeti Laasila, alongside previously announced stars Saara Aalto and Kristo Salminen.
In other roles are Pekko Hirvonen, Mikko Laine, Heidi Viljanen, Tuuli Mäkiranta and Jenni Kitti. The ensemble includes Kaarel Targo, Henri Salin, Fanni Frix, Reeta Vestman, Sini Parkkinen, Ilona Chevacova, Samuli Ainasvuori and Katariina Lantto, with dancers Sofia Ruija and Antti Keinänen.
“It was a joy to see strong nationwide interest in our Snowball musical. More than 300 performers applied, around 200 were invited to auditions, from which the most suitable artists were selected for the various roles,” says artistic producer Johan Storgård.
The Experienced and the Talents of the Future
Mika Nuojua’s acting career includes numerous theatre, film and television roles and a true piece of Finnish theatre history. Together with Martti Suosalo, he has performed at the Helsinki City Theatre in the play Kiviä taskussa for 23 years. Over a thousand consecutive performances is more than any other play in Finland.
In the Snowball musical, Nuojua plays Untamo, an officer serving Louhi, played by Saara Aalto.

Actor and singer Mia Hafrén has graduated from the Uniarts Helsinki’s Theatre Academy in 1997 and is known from the Yle’s series Tahdon asia and Hovimäki and from the vocal group Fork. She has also released two solo albums, For the Brave (2025) and Också för dig (2022), with her third album, Love to Be Found, set to release on February 6. She is seen in the role of Hjalmina, Santa Claus’s head elf.
Petra Pääkkönen and Veeti Laasila represent a younger generation in the musical. Pääkkönen, who plays Krista, is a musical theatre performer graduated from the Umeå Musical Theatre Academy in 2019. She has played, among other productions, in the play Matilda during season 2024–2025 at Svenska Teatern, in Tootsie at Lahti City Theatre during season 2023–2024 and in Evita at Seinäjoki City Theatre during autumn 2020.
Veeti Laasila has graduated as a musical theatre performer from Tampere University of Applied Sciences in January 2026. He has worked at Vaasa City Theatre, appearing among others in the musical Cabaret, which premiered in September 2024. He plays the role of Tiera.
