“Pikisaari Button” earrings

Buttons from the 18th and 19th centuries discovered on the Pikisaari island tell stories of the clothing, craftsmanship and trade connections of Oulu in their time.

To celebrate the Oulu2026 cultural year, Paja 1605 Oy / Taigakoru presents a jewelry collection where the past meets the present. Inspired by the design of a historical button, the collection’s forms were created by hand-carving wax models in the Pikisaari workshop.

The collection includes silver and bronze earrings, a pendant, a brooch, and sew-on buttons. Available at our Oulu Market Square boutique or Taigakoru.fi web shop.
