Xulu202x combines Dance art, Hip hop culture and Future studies to explore collective visions of a future Oulu through performances, future workshops and a symposium. Project events will take place during the years 2024-2026.
Xulu202x is a socially engaged art and research-based project that combines Dance art, Hip Hop culture and Future Studies to explore collective visions of a future Oulu. The project is built on three pillars, which will take place in 2024-2026: Performances, Future workshops and a Symposium
The future is not a fixed destination, it is a horizon of multiple possibilities. Xulu202x explores these multiple possibilities through active collective dreaming with different social groups and aims to give space to a variety of voices especially to those of marginalized groups of youth and young adults.
Xulu202x is a dream of a collective future that can only be reached together.

The future can only be built upon that which already exists. And that which exists today must be handled with care to last into the future.
Xulu202x is centered on collective dreaming and imagination. It considers Oulu, and cities in general, as clusters of social connections. Through these social connections each individual has a unique experience of Oulu. By making these realities visible through art and culture, we are able to envision multiple possibilities of futures in Oulu.
Xulu202x is the practicing arena for collective dreaming and sustainable grounding of futures in care and empathy
