Walking within the Frame
Walking within the Frame is a performative walk in the Sanginjoki Nature Reserve by Maria Oiva and Kristina Junttila.
Join us on a two-hour journey in the Sanginjoki Nature Reserve, guided by your smartphone. This unique experience blends technology and nature, offering new perspectives on familiar trails. Walk alone and with others as your smart companion helps you explore themes of home, freedom, and power, inviting reflection on our relationship with nature, technology, and each other. Suitable for both seasoned hikers and beginners, the outdoor experience takes place in your chosen language: Finnish, Swedish, Norwegian, or English. Dress appropriately for the weather.
Our impact to Culture-
climate change
The performance challenges the myth of a “pure” relationship with nature by integrating technology into the experience. It forges new connections between humans and nature while questioning environmental policy in the North. As part of a Nordic project, it seeks fresh ways to address climate and environmental issues through embodied experiences, rather than repeating familiar discourses. The work aims to offer new perspectives for both nature hikers and technology enthusiasts, fostering a cultural shift in how we engage with these themes.
