Voice the Taboo
The Cheerful House makes visible people’s mental well-being and psychological distress – in workshops, art groups and events that are carried out in urban environments and parks using guerrilla art methods.
By using the means of applied art and working together, we can strengthen hopefulness, even though we face psychological strain and many kinds of everyday difficulties, prejudices, stigma and discrimination in our own lives. Do you have your own or a relative’s experience of mental disorders? Let’s highlight art-based methods and activities together that make it easier to connect with others and feel a sense of belonging. We are assisted in our work by artists who are skilled in carrying out creative activities and using different art-based means.
Our impact to Culture-
climate change
We pay attention to human interaction and power relations. We influence how mental disorders are perceived and presented among the population. Voice the Taboo creates works and encounters in random places in the city. There may be singing in the queue at the store, creating the feeling that something exciting might happen at any moment. We find new ways of working when we work together and take advantage of the creativity we all have.
