Vaara-Kainuu Art National Park Initiative
The Vaara-Kainuu Art National Park combines the stunning nature, culture, and art of Kainuu in a unique way. Everyone is invited to participate in its creation, making something nationally and internationally exceptional.
The Art National Park is built through community collaboration—together in planning, doing, and fostering a sense of togetherness. Local residents, diverse organizations, entrepreneurs, institutions, and cultural actors can all be part of its story. All ideas, participation, and perspectives are welcome from the very planning stage, where various interdisciplinary contents are developed and tested, and the foundation for the new national park is laid. Together, we can create a nature and culture centre that brings vitality, benefits the entire Kainuu region, and enriches nature tourism nationwide. Join in creating experiences through creativity with nature!
Our impact to Culture-
climate change
The Art National Park brings together art, knowledge, and community experiences, enabling shifts in thinking and action. Works of art, exhibitions, events, environmental art, knowledge on forests, as well as art and environmental education, expand ways of understanding, feeling, respecting and protecting nature.
Diverse artworks are ways for personal connections, art education fosters new dimensions and relationships with the local environment, and participatory events and community-driven cultural and nature-themed workshops offer everyone the opportunity to be part of the change.
