The Juureva IS stage at Summer Night’s Dinner will feature performances from nine Oulu2026 region municipalities. Come and enjoy an atmospheric summer day, delicious food, and lively music around the long table on 15 August.
The Juureva IS stage will feature music and dance groups from municipalities including Ranua, Kemi, Pyhäjärvi, Kuhmo, and Kalajoki. The diverse programme offers experiences to suit all tastes.
From Comic Songs to Dance Spectacle and Folk Music
The Juureva IS stage programme begins at 12:00 with children’s music orchestra Ujo Kiinnostus. The group, made up of young performers from Sotkamo and Kuhmo, invites you on a musical boat trip. This energetic performance for the whole family is sure to entertain both children and the young at heart.
At 13:30, the stage welcomes pop folk trio Katalat from Kalajoki. Their music combines pop with catchy folk melodies, along with sharp and insightful lyrics. On stage, Katalat are known for their dark humour and playful self-irony.
At 15:00, it is time for Ranua and Kemi-based comic song duo Maitopojat. The duo brings the traditional Finnish kupletti style to life with fresh new touches. This cheerful performance is guaranteed to deliver plenty of humour.
At 16:30, the Kainuu-based Puumiehet Show takes the stage. Founded in 2019, the dance group challenges traditional stereotypes around masculinity through movement, joy, playfulness, and a sense of community. Expect a dance spectacle full of positivity, courage, and presence.
At 18:00, Moonshine Bright from Ii and Oulu will take the stage. The band’s music combines influences from both American and Finnish folk traditions. Their modern interpretation brings fresh shades and new perspectives to traditional folk melodies.
The evening concludes with Hiijjen Pelimannit from Pyhäjärvi, who begin their folk music performance at 19:30. The group’s repertoire includes both traditional pelimanni music and their own compositions inspired by the pelimanni tradition.
