This summer and autumn, visitors can enjoy a wide range of local food events celebrating northern Finnish culinary traditions, local ingredients and community spirit. July Highlights
- In Kuhmo, the World Championship of Kainuu pastry crimping celebrates the traditional regional delicacy known as rönttönen.

The event date us inspired by Finland’s first Mother’s Day celebration that took place 7th July 1918.

August Highlights
- “Meijän Maut” (“Our Taste”) in Oulu brings together chefs, producers, and food businesses from across the Oulu2026 region.
