Tiny Spaces Deep Connections Symposium and Exhibition
Tiny Spaces Deep Connections symposium and exhibition is an event where Oulu’s local culture intertwines with Central and Southern European artistic practices.
Tiny Spaces Deep Connections is an international two-year art project (2025–2026) rooted in slow travel, culminating in a symposium and exhibition in Oulu from 21 to 31 August 2026. The event takes place along a route connecting Oulu city centre, Varjakka in Oulunsalo, and the waterway in between. It showcases ecological models for artist residencies and highlights the creative potential of small, unconventional spaces. The exhibition presents works by 12 artists created in Varjakka, Athens, and Potsdam, Germany, inspired by site-specific work and slow travel.
The project is co-funded by European Union, Ministry of Education and City of Oulu.
