Oulun Kupletit – Songs from Old Oulu
The Duo takes you on a journey in time back to the 1950–1980s with songs written by local musicians of that period. The songs contain witty remarks on the events and everyday life of Old Oulu.
These old songs take the listener to different areas and decades in Oulu: Tuira, Heinäpää, Nallikari, Hailuoto… The songs, written in the 1950–1980s, describe local events and everyday life with tones varying from gritty and sarcastic to warm and nostalgic. Performed by Kuplettiduo (Veli Vaismaa, guitar and vocals; Suvi Timm, piano, vocals and tin whistle), the rich lyrics bring history to life.
