Oamk is a key player in the implementation of the Oulu2026 European Capital of Culture, offering solid expertise as a developer of Northern Finland’s art scene. Graduates from Oamk’s cultural programs play a strong role as drivers of regional cultural development, particularly in dance and music. The university combines creative industries, technology, and regional needs. Examples of projects and educational initiatives include Hybrid Producer 2026, which promotes digital skills in the event industry; Arctic Food+, designed to support food tourism; AVARA Art & Tech, combining art and technology; several dance and music performances; and the digitization of Oamk’s art collection.
