Use-It Travel Europe
Are you interested in Oulu’s local culture and getting to know other European cities too? You’ll get to participate in the international community and process in Use-It meeting, how young locals create cultural maps here and across Europe.
Oulu has been part of the international network of cities in Use-It Travel Europe since 2017, when we published our first city-map. We want to inspire young people to get to know our work and start themselves to tell about their home, culture and history through the network to European audience. Oulu’s local volunteer team will show our work and the European Capital of Culture program to domestic and international guests next year. During the meeting week you’ll meet map teams from other European cities, attend workshops, panel discussions and contribute on developing sustainable travel in the future.
Our impact to Culture-
climate change
The year of cultural Capital of Europe will show us the results of years of work. In Use-It Travel Europe, we support in teaching our experiences and knowledge of map-making so that everyone can enjoy and share culture. Oulu has a lot to show and give, and in our map we want to help visitors how to experience our city like a local. Our goal isn’t just to make Oulu more globally well-known, we want to help young people in other cities to achieve the same, with the support of the whole organisation. Together with the city we’ll give our best to the visitors in 2026!
