Art House MURRR!
In spring 2026, soon-to-be-demolished building in the center of Kalajoki will be filled by artist team MURRR! with clay murals made of sand, clay, natural fibers and pigments. The murals depict the stories and experiences of residents of Kalajoki.
Art House MURRR! gives a voice to people who are usually not heard, and stirs attention on our built environment, especially those buildings that will soon be demolished and forgotten. MURRR! does this through wall art and installation. The installation is made in a way that respects the environment, as it is based on raw materials that can be found from and returned back to local nature.
Our impact to Culture-
climate change
MURRR! is changing the cultural climate by boldly combining old and new, traditional techniques of the past and urban aesthetics of the present. MURRR! makes murals on a large scale, but with only a small carbon footprint. MURRR! brings together site-specific art, local materials, collaboration and storytelling. The world belongs to us all and cultural climate change is happening together.
