A Cup of Culture is filled with cultural richness

Share

The Cup of Culture Event is going to open the celebration of Oulu2026 European Capital of Culture in Kajaani on Friday 23th of January 2026 at Seminaarin taidekampus.

The event offers a unique opportunity to get together celebrating the diversity of traditions and cultures. The stage of the Seminaarin taidekampus will feature pieces of dance, music and poetry. The Cultural Market will introduce you to crafts, tastes and information sessions.

“Our goal is to increase cultural understanding, strengthen community and create space for new encounters. This is how we will implement the Cultural Climate Change together,” the coordinators Karoliina Kuvaja and Minna Härkönen say.

A Cup of Culture will be held at the Seminaarin taidekampus on Friday, January 23th from 5-9 p.m. Doors open at 4 pm. The event is open and free to all. Coffee will be served and snacks will be purchased at the café and at the Culture Market.

You can still apply to be part of the event program and the Culture Market until the beginning of January. The program will be curated to be as diverse as possible. The program can include, for example, dance, music, singing, poetry or some other small performance. More information and application instructions can be found on the Art Campus website.

The Cup of Culture event is organized by the Seminaarin taidekampus project together with the Equitable Inclusion Through Volunteering Project, which is founded by EU. The cooperation includes Pohjois-Suomen Kiinteistösijoitus Oy.

Warmly welcome to celebrate the cultural diversity in Kajaani!
