About the exhibition
Björk is bringing an exhibition to Oulu that combines sound, moving images, music, visual art and technology. The exhibition features three audiovisual installations. Ancestress and Sorrowful Soil are works composed and arranged by Björk, which were created as a tribute to her mother. The third work, Björk Orkestral, will be experienced in an immersive listening room created by Genelec.
The works were first exhibited last summer at the National Gallery of Iceland in Reykjavik. The exhibition can be experienced in Oulu until the end of the year.
The exhibition is part of Lumo Art & Tech festival’s programme.
Fotografiska Tallinn’s popular Play exhibition continues at Oulu2026’s Pekuri premises. Björk’s exhibition and Play can be experienced with the same admission ticket starting November 13th. The exhibitions are open every day.
The exhibition space and the Oulu2026 entrance hall are designed by PAVE Architects. Collaboration partners include Genelec, Saas Instruments and IP Heikkilä.

No. One ticket includes admission to both Björk’s exhibition and Fotografiska Tallinn’s PLAY exhibition.
