Jorven Viilik, Artistic Director of Fotografiska Tallinn, curated the extensive group exhibition PLAY, on display at the Pekuri Shopping Centre until the end of 2026. Viilik has selected his favourite picks from the Oulu2026 programme.
1 . The Kuutar Garden 18.9-30.11.2026, Oulu
A parking garage turned into virtual exploration journey of botanical afterlife influenced by norther moonlight… Enough said. Also I am a fan of places that refuse to be one thing at a time, and I feel this one refuses the hardest.
Lumo Art & Tech Festival 13.-22.11.2026
Ten days of light, sound and digital art. The inner child would be dissapointed to leave this bundle of discoveries out from the list.
Beyond the Sky 19.-21.11.
I want to see what happens when something photographed that exsists in total silence over a decade gets handed to an orchestra.
Air Guitar World Championships 2026 27-29 August
This has been in the list from day 1. I don’t need to make sense of it. I just want to see it and witness the joy.

I’m not sure what to expect. I feel like we’re accustomed to look at power plants and not really comprehend the power it creates. I want to go stand inside one while it’s being sung to, and ponder about it.
