TEK.village – Revitalizing Teknologiakylä Through Art Interventions
TEK.village is a site-specific art initiative by Translation Flowers Collective. It will transform Oulu’s Technology Village into an exhibition site through creative collaborative interventions by local artists and companies.
Transformed from a bustling hub of technological development by day to a space reclaimed by more-than-human life at night, Technology Village offers both conceptual and spatial playground for artist takeover.
Our project seeks to illuminate the unused potential of this unique environment and re-envision what interconnecting practices, knowledge, and technologies can bring about for our planetary well-being.
These ephemeral site-specific interventions will bridge the gap between technology, art and nature bringing the local technological development and creative innovations closer to local communities.

Interventions will emphasize sustainability and environmental mindfulness in all materials, media and technologies used throughout the project. Working with DIY, DIWO, LoFi approaches and media, nurturing failure as part of the creative flow, sustainability and critical reuse that brings about new insight and discoveries. Collaboration with the local neighboring companies will also critically reflect their impact and contribution.
