From Church to Church – Church Architecture in North Ostrobothnia
A cultural route that brings together old churches, church architecture, cultural heritage and community stories from Northern Ostrobothnia. During the anniversary year, the churches will host various art events and guided tours.
This church architecture and cultural route project brings together church architecture and history of church building in Northern Ostrobothnia. It includes modern specialties, community stories and cultural heritage. The routes are compiled in a digital Atla guide. Among other things, log construction, church builder families, church art such as Toppelius and church textiles, and pauper statues are featured.
During the year, some of the churches on the route will feature art exhibitions, community art, and guided tours and lectures on the history of church building and cultural heritage.

The program creates a sense of togetherness and belonging between people and also highlights connections between people, congregations and cultural history that maybe have been forgotten in some ways.
Churches have always brought people and communities together from the peripheries, from the edges, from far away. On boats along waterways, rivers and lakes, and in the forests along paths and cart tracks. In the Church to Church project, we are re-creating these connections, at the level of feeling.
